You might
not believe in spending a lot of money on an extravagant marketing strategy or
ad campaign, but there are many smart and simple ways that you can increase
your bottom line without spending a lot. Here are some budget conscious ways
that you can bring in new clients!
Just
Ask
If you're
waiting for more clients to walk in your door, you have to ask. Each client
that you work with may be a great referral, so you'll want to be certain that
your work has earned it. Let your clients know that you appreciate working with
them, and would love it if they told people about you.
If you
feel reluctant, be sure to focus on them, and not yourself. Let them know that
you want the quality of your service to be deserving of their referral. Not
only does this let them know that they can trust you to do a good job, but also
that you would do the same for their mother, friend, or sister.
Offer
Discounts and Free Services
When
doing something nice for someone comes with the promise of a reward, people are
more likely to do it. Your clients might be motivated to tell more of their
friends, family, and coworkers about you if they know that free or discounted
services will be offered.
Let your
clients know that you don't want to be their best kept hair secret, and that
even if they refer a dozen new clients, you'll always have room for them. If
you treat your clients like friends and make them feel appreciated with
generous discounts and free services, they are bound to be loyal—and generous
with referrals. Everyone loves to get a service for free, especially if it
frees up their budget for something else.
Create
an Affiliate Program
Many of
your clients may be entrepreneurs or interested in your industry. If you meet a
client that wants to get involved and find a new stream of income, discuss your
affiliate program. If you introduce an option for people to sell your wonderful
products or service offerings, many people may be interested in partnership.
Get
Social!
If you're
not involved in social media and other platforms where clients can review you
and talk about your service, you're missing out!
A
positive and active online presence is an indicator of your dedication to your
work. If you're proud of what you do, ask to post photos of your client's hair
on Facebook, Instagram, and your website. Ask them to re-post for their friends
to see, and be sure to have a business card with your contact information and
social media pages. Engage with your clients by adding or following them
online, and more people will want to engage with you.
Encourage
Community Involvement
Hosting
an event with another business is a great way to get new people in your door.
By working with another business, you will draw a more diverse crowd than you
might attract alone. Show off your offerings, provide prizes and complementary
services, and give something to everyone to take home. This is a great time to
give out marketing materials and tell people about your referral or affiliate
programs.
Let us know if you have any questions.
