These distinctive prototypes allow us to aid in the development of the best quality products. Our prototyping is an all-inclusive process which allows our clients to provide the best products to the end user.

When a product is produced, proper engineering is critical in ensuring proper design. Ultimately, the success of a design determines whether or not the product will function as intended, as well as what the sale price will be. Every factor of the end result relies on proper design.
The Hairline Illusions Engineering Team has the education, skill, and experience to produce successful designs and prototypes. You can be confident that your product will be designed with care, creativity, and insight through a collaborative process with multiple engineers. We want to help you prepare your design for the market, translating your ideas into a successful finished product.
Through prototype development, we will take your concept from patent to execution in several steps. We use several different levels of development, beginning with the design proposal and later, the initial prototype. We strive for perfection throughout our process, so we improve the design with each prototype. Most products are not ready for the market with their first prototype. In most cases, two to three prototypes are needed to allow us to carefully refine the product before production begins.
During the prototyping process, we will evaluate, test, and challenge each component of the design to ensure that all flaws are weeded out. When we arrive at the second and third prototype phase, a product design is typically about 90% to 95% finalized. We repeat our testing process until the product is completely prepared to be manufactured and produced on a larger scale.
What You Will Receive
What we will do for you is reliant on the type of product, how complex of a design is necessary, and how many components and variables there are. We may produce anywhere from one to ten prototypes before your product is ready to be manufactured.
Hairline Illusions Production Solutions
In order to streamline your process, Hairline Illusions can handle everything from the engineering to each step of the manufacturing process. Our facility can produce between 100 and 500 units, and we are here to get your product to the market.
If you require package design, we are able to offer these types of services as well. We provide logo and package design, product website designs, UPC placement on the packaging, as well as formal prototypes for the package design.
Development Time Frame
Depending upon your type of product and your patent, it can take anywhere from 12 to 24 weeks for the product to move through the engineering and prototype process. This is our typical time frame, but some designs offer unique challenges and may take more time.
Cost For Product Development and Engineering Services
We begin the process by providing a complimentary quote for your product. We prefer a fixed pricing system over an hourly fee structure, which has worked best for us in the past. In order to help you budget, our quote will take in mind the anticipated revisions and ensuring that the price for the project does not rise unexpectedly. We will present pricing for the different parts of the process for full transparency. As additional prototypes or other services are required, more costs can be incurred. We believe this structure helps our clients better prepare for the overall cost of the process.
