For patients with life-changing illnesses, hair loss can be a devastating side effect that can deepen the wounds of being ill. A serious diagnosis is a difficult circumstance that impacts any individual in many profound ways. While each individual handles these situations differently, hair loss can often feel like a loss of femininity, individuality, or sense of self.  We seek to help people through these difficult times.

Those undergoing chemotherapy deal with a unique struggle, but others are suffering with hair loss as well. Alopecia, an autoimmune disease, causes a person to lose their hair as the immune system destroys the hair follicles. This—and other disorders—can cause the loss of hair that can be quite difficult to cope with. In these circumstances, these women are not weak or frail—they have simply lost their hair, and want to look well again. Although many women embrace the changes that happen during a time of illness, many others just want to feel normal again; to be looked upon with the inner strength that they still possess, as opposed to the weak state that hair loss may portray. We aim to help make our clients feel whole again in any way possible.

Since 2006, Hairline Illusions has offered a One For One Program that provides medical wig grants to less fortunate women and children. This program was created to help women in crisis who are not in the position to buy custom wigs. We are also thrilled to help women understand possible reimbursements that they may be eligible for from their healthcare providers.

What's So Different About Hairline Illusions?

Hairline Illusions offers hand-crafted wigs that are distinctly different from lace wigs. The way that our wigs fit, how they are constructed, the materials we use, wig application, natural appearance, and their longevity set us apart. Our wigs are different from any manufacturer and are made to last.

We are not selling boxed one-size-fits-all wigs out of boxes, and we don't have shelves lined with pre-made wigs. We recognize that every client is unique, and their wig should be as well. We have many years of experience working with wigs in theater, movies, and TV, and over the years, we have built an understanding of the best production techniques.

We proudly manufacture our wigs; we don't start with pieces of pre-manufactured wigs, and you'll never find us using other wigs as a base or starting point. Our wigs are made to fit each individual client. Our wigs are meticulously hand-crafted in the United States by our dedicated technicians, not made in factories.

Our advanced prosthesis wigs can be applied without tape, glues, or thread, unlike lace and other types of wigs. We do not have to resort to uncomfortable and damaging application methods that can harm the hair and scalp. These innovative wigs have a scalp replica custom built for each client. To prepare them, we custom pick a scalp color that matches yours exactly, making it very hard to detect. If you wish to supply your own hair, the hair of relatives or friends, you may do so.  If you choose to do this, we simply deduct the cost of the hair you've supplied from the final cost of your wig.

Unlike the netting used with lace wigs, our advanced wigs are virtually invisible and look just like a natural scalp. Our wigs are designed to fit your head like a glove. When you purchase a wig from Hairline Illusions, the price you pay not only includes a six month to a year warranty but also proper care of your new wig. You'll leave with your new wig and a full understanding of how to care for it.

Another feature of our wigs that makes them so different from the rest is longevity; we want your wig to last for a long time. Most typically last for 3 to 5 years with daily wear when taken care of properly. Lace wigs are often replaced every few months, if not more often. Some women replace their lace wigs 3 to 5 times per year.

When you order a wig, we offer a free phone consultation to discuss your needs. We'll tell you more about how we construct our wigs, discuss your hair specifications, and our different wig types as well as pricing. When you're ready to proceed, we render a 50% deposit, financing or payment plan, after which point you will undergo a fitting. After 6 to 16 weeks (depending on the wig foundation type), clients are notified to inform them of the completion of their wig so they may schedule their final consultation or ship date.

Medical insurance providers may cover the cost if you have medically related hair loss.
